A Christmas Message from the office of Chief Chaplain…
CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR GREETINGS

Dear VFPASNY brothers and sisters,
As we approach Christmas and 2025, we have much to be thankful for at VFPASNY. Most
notable, President Norm’s emphasis on all around Improved Communications. We can look at
every day as a blessing as life goes on for fire police squads around our great state. Challenges are
out there every time our fire police tones go out. I have strong belief in our training instructors during seminars and zoom training that our members are well prepared for duty.
Each of us have the blessing of VFPASNY and all served by President Norm, VP’s Jon and Dorothy, our staff of Phyllis, Juan, Barbara, Dave, Nancy, Tom With, and our energy-filled Past President,
Dick Duerr. Indeed, he is a real “doer.” With the support and work of our nine regional directors
and nine regional chaplains, we can grow. Additionally, we work well with brother and sister associations such as FASNY, NYSAFC, AFDSNY, IAFC, and the State Chaplains Association to make New York State a better and safer place to live and call home. For myself, my local Region 5 is very
blessed with our very active director, Dave Fairley, who forges ahead even after heart surgery.
LET US PRAY
Heavenly Father, we serve you as best we can in accordance to Section 209-C of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, but we need your guidance and protection as we work in potentially dangerous traffic conditions, with a fire police force comprised of mostly senior
brothers and sisters. We pray Father that you watch over us so that at days end, everyone goes home. I pray that all our members are blessed with a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year.
To God Be the Glory, Amen.
Gene Preston
HAPPY HANUKKAH, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HEALTHY HAPPY NEW YEAR
